How to repair hole in felted beret

Posted on Jan 9, 2013 by in Tutorials and DIY | 3 comments

As a creative person, I’m always trying to make something new. Following my craft friends (and my daughter Nessie!), I have tried to felt ruffled scarf and beret.
I have helped to my daughter with her felting once or twice, but I have never done felted clothes before. Surely, I have made a lot of mistakes, but I tried to fix a better part of them.
At the end of felting process I found that my beret has a large hole with a few smaller holes. Now I try to repair them!

First I have felted few flowers matched by colors to my pink-purple-grey-creamy beret (this was my second felting project!)

I have sewn three flowers on the beret, right onto the holes

Then I decorate the flowers with seed beads. First:

Now my beret looks wonderful!

The remaining two flowers I have used to make a brooch to my ruffled scarf

Now I have beautiful girly pink beret and scarf with wonderful flowers and many MANY ruffles!
